Join us in welcoming BD Richardson to the Artist-in-the-House Gallery. Enjoy complimentary snacks, meet the artist, and learn about her work with modern day tintypes.
The artist’s reception will be held at Locals on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The reception is free and the public is invited to attend.
“The Hybrid Eye” will be on display from September 17th - November 9th at Locals Farm Market, 19929 Fisher Avenue, Poolesville, Md.
This show is the twenty first Riverworks “Artist in the House” exhibition to be featured on the second floor of the historic Veirs-Stevens House at Locals.
Experienced photographers remember the days of hands-on processing and the whiff of chemicals—but what new artistic possibilities might we discover when current technology revives old slides and negatives, or when digital photography meets the traditional darkroom?
That’s the question BD Richardson explores in “The Hybrid Eye,” a new Riverworks Art Center exhibition that features stunning black-and-white prints of rural scenes rendered all the more vivid for her fascination with techniques rooted in the earliest days of photography.
