About the event
The news is grim and hope seems to be in short supply these days—but is our destiny a dark and depressed guarantee? What if we refused dystopia and instead insisted on and worked toward a brighter, better future for all? This is the ethos of Solarpunk—a hopeful and action-oriented movement that imagines sustainable, just, and community-centered futures in action. Solarpunk is an invitation to first, imagine a better future, and then, to take action to work for its existence.
Join us for this Community Roundtable Project Discussion led by Christine Hubbard to celebrate the work of the CRP #5 (Solarpunk) participants. First, Christine will enlighten us with respect to the Solarpunk philosophy with a visual presentation. Next, creators, having explored a deeper understanding of Solarpunk, will share their experiences with the community and present their final creative Solarpunk. Free and open to the public.
The CRP, offered several times a year, is designed to bring artists and the community together in sharing and conversation of important issues, topics and cultures through the medium of art.
