About the event

How do you make a Saturday afternoon in Poolesville feel like Sunday morning? By coming to

hear the Frederick County Mass Choir at the Riverworks outdoor stage.

Riverworks is honored to host a choir whose members find such meaning and purpose through

music. Bring your own chair and an open heart and join us for an inspiring reminder of the

many ways music connects us, heals us, and teaches us about each other.

We’ll see you at 17617 West Willard Road in Poolesville, rain or

shine! (If it rains that day, no worries: Our friends at the Poolesville Baptist Church have kindly

offered to open their doors to us.)

ABOUT THE FREDERICK COUNTY MASS CHOIR:

The FCMC is the most recent group of singers and musicians organized by Mr. John Onley, a

well known piano and keyboard accompanist in the community. Mr. Onley is an avid scholar of

the Bible, a deacon, a minister of music, and a firm believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ who

has dedicated his life to community service. The FCMC represents his passion for celebrating

the sacred music that serves as pillars of his faith. His desire is to preserve and promote the

hymns of the church, as well as spiritual and gospel genres.

United through the desire to serve and spread the love of God through inspirational music, the

FCMC also represents Mr. Onley’s vision for a large and diverse choir. He welcomes men and

women of different ages, cultures, ethnicities, and denominations to come together in unity.

The choir includes members of his family and faithful members of other choirs.

Since its inception in 2023, the group has met and practiced on a monthly basis. Due to popular

demand, the choir now meets bi-weekly and has performed at several community functions.

*This is a family-friendly event, with discounted tickets for children ages 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under!
